With
the new legislative maps for Minnesota released last
Tuesday Michael Cummins has decided to once again run
for the State Senate in what is now the 11th
Senate District of Minnesota. The new district has not
changed much and continues to represent Carlton, St
Louis, Pine and Kanabec County.
Michael Cummins who was
the endorsed candidate in 2008 for Congress and in 2010
for the Senate seat sees 2012 as another landslide year
for republicans in Minnesota.
Michael has the
leadership, understanding of the issues and desire to
bring his real world business experience to St. Paul to
represent the families of the new 11th Senate
District. Cummins says, “there are to many stresses on
families right now and our elected representatives need
to keep finding solutions to make our families,
businesses and state stronger without putting us on an
unsustainable path.”
Cummins also says, “As a
General Contractor I have to pay attention to the bottom
line on every project. I hold my crews accountable and
my clients hold me accountable to get the job done right
and under budget. There is no reason that our government
cannot look at the budget the same way. We need to be
accountable to the people of our state and I will be
accountable to the people of our Senate District.”
Some of the issues that
are important to the people of Pine, Carlton and Kanabec
County will be responsible property tax relief, stopping
any expansion of gambling and our state budget in 2013.
Issues that Michael supports and believes strongly in
are that marriage is between one man and one woman.
Michael also believes in Voter integrity with voter ID
and that life begins at conception. These three issues
are not supported by our current Senator and that is why
Michael believes he is more in touch with the people of
the Senate District.
Tough decisions have to
be made, but more importantly, they need to be
responsible decisions. There are those who do need help,
but there are too many who do not and still receive
benefits. I look forward to serving as your next Senator
from Minnesota Senate District 11 and I hope I can count
on your support.
